The UI/UX design project for Cell Press focuses on enhancing the digital experience for researchers, scientists, and academics engaging with their extensive collection of over 50 scientific journals. The project aims to create a seamless, intuitive interface that simplifies navigation across a wide range of disciplines, from life and physical sciences to earth and health sciences. By prioritizing clear, organized access to research articles, tools, and resources, the design ensures that users can easily discover, read, and interact with cutting-edge scientific content, fostering a more efficient and engaging scholarly experience.

The Cell Press Brand Connectivity project, which aimed to bring visual and experiential cohesion across all Cell Press journal brands. The initiative introduced a unified branding system, incorporating the Cell Press tagline and the infinity graphic logo into each journal to strengthen brand identity.

The project also involved aligning key interface modules—such as global navigation, open access support indicators, and shared design components—to ensure consistency in user experience while preserving the unique editorial voice of each title. This effort not only enhanced visual recognition and navigability across Cell Press platforms but also reinforced the brand’s commitment to openness, innovation, and scientific excellence.

The design of the presubmission process for authors, aiming to simplify how researchers engage with journal guidelines and assess fit before submitting their manuscripts. I created three distinct design concepts and conducted user testing with target users to gather feedback on clarity, usability, and engagement. Based on the insights and behavioral data collected, I iterated on the designs and delivered a final page that is intuitive, informative, and aligned with author needs—ultimately helping reduce submission friction and improve journal-author alignment.

the Cell Press Journal Metrics design with a focus on clarity, responsiveness, and usability. By reorganizing complex performance data into a layout that is easy to scan and understand, I helped users—from authors to librarians—quickly assess journal impact and relevance. The design is fully responsive, ensuring seamless access to metrics across desktop and mobile devices, and aligns with Cell Press branding for a cohesive user experience.
